Yukti Thareja confirmed as female lead opposite Shahid Kapoor in Farzi Season 2
Yukti Thareja has confirmed she is the main female lead in Raj and DK's Farzi Season 2 opposite Shahid Kapoor, with most of her part already shot and a mid-2027 release expected.
Raj and DK's crime thriller Farzi has found its leading lady for the second season. Actress Yukti Thareja has confirmed that she plays the main female lead in Farzi Season 2, opposite Shahid Kapoor. The first season made a big impact on the OTT scene, and the follow-up is now well into its shoot.
Thareja said she is the only central female protagonist this season. "It's a strong, layered role with real substance," she said. She has already filmed most of her portion, with about 20 percent still left to shoot, and the season is expected to arrive in mid-2027. She reportedly plays a fearless Gen-Z woman who speaks up against the system, and all of her scenes are said to be with Shahid.
In the first season, Shahid played Sunny, a young man who gets into the fake currency business. The season ended on a cliffhanger that set up a tense face-off between Shahid, Vijay Sethupathi and Kay Kay Menon. According to reports, Sunny and his best friend Firoz, played by Bhuvan Arora, slipped away from both task force officer Michael Vedanayagam, played by Sethupathi, and crime boss Mansoor Dalal, played by Menon. The new season is said to follow the pair as they keep their counterfeit racket running while staying ahead of both men.
Season 1 also featured Raashii Khanna, who reportedly played a cop working to bring down the fake currency network. Her character grew close to Sunny without knowing who he really was. The series was also reportedly Shahid's first digital project.
Thareja first won wide attention with the music video Lut Gaye, where she starred opposite Emraan Hashmi. The Jubin Nautiyal song has reportedly crossed a billion views on YouTube. Her other credits reportedly include Hai Junoon! Dream. Dare. Dominate, Delhi Crime Season 3 and the Malayalam action film Marco.
