Vignesh Shivan on Nayanthara politics buzz: she is enjoying motherhood

Director Vignesh Shivan has answered the talk about his wife Nayanthara entering politics by pointing to her family life. The actor, he said, is currently enjoying motherhood.

Vignesh was asked whether Nayanthara might contest the 2031 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections when he attended a food distribution event held for World Food Day.

"Right now, Nayanthara is enjoying motherhood. Our entire focus is on our children. We are spending our time on our family and careers, and that gives us immense satisfaction," he said.

Politics itself went unaddressed. The director neither confirmed nor ruled out a run, and kept his reply to home and work.

The question comes after Vijay rose from film star to Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, which has set off fresh guessing about which screen names could follow him into public life. Nayanthara, one of the biggest female stars in South Indian cinema with a huge fan following in Tamil Nadu, has been among the names in that talk.
