Samantha's Shaakuntalam Shines On OTT Platform

Shaakuntalam, the Pan-Indian movie featuring Samantha in the lead, failed to impress audiences in theatres due to poor execution and subpar VFX work. Dil Raju presented and distributed the mythological drama, directed by Gunasekhar, who expressed disappointment at the film's poor reception. Dil Raju also admitted that Shaakuntalam was a setback in his career.

However, the film's fortunes seem to have turned around on the digital platform. Shaakuntalam has made a thunderous start on the OTT platform Prime Video, where it is currently trending at the second spot in India. The movie has even surpassed Priyanka Chopra's Citadel series, reaching the second position on the platform.

The film is produced by Neelima Guna under the banner of Gunaa Team Works, with Mani Sharma composing the music.
