Shaakuntalam, the upcoming mythological drama directed by Gunasekhar and starring Samantha in the lead role, has completed its censor formalities and received a U/A certificate. The film, which marks Gunasekhar's return after eight years, is all set for a grand PAN-Indian release this Friday in theaters.
The special premiere of the movie was held at Hyderabad's Prasads multiplex, generating positive buzz among fans. Shaakuntalam also features Malayalam actor Dev Mohan making his Tollywood debut. The film has a runtime of 2 hours and 22 minutes.
Mani Sharma composed the music for the movie, which was bankrolled by Gunasekhar's daughter Neelima Guna under Gunaa Team Works. Prakash Raj, Mohan Babu, Sachin Khedekar, Aditi Balan, Ananya Nagalla, and Gautami have played crucial roles in the film, while Allu Arjun's daughter, Allu Arha, will be seen as Prince Bharatha.
