Ranabaali Team Lines Up a Four-Part Documentary Series Before October 16 Release

The makers of Ranabaali have found an unusual way to build excitement before the film reaches theatres. The Vijay Deverakonda period action drama opens worldwide on October 16. Ahead of that, the team has announced Never Forget The Truth, a documentary series told across four episodes.

The chapters will arrive one at a time. The Famine We Forgot comes out on September 28, The History We Forgot follows on September 30, and The Men We Forgot lands on October 2. The fourth and final chapter, The Last Load, has no date yet, and the makers say it will be announced soon.

Early details suggest the series will explore forgotten parts of history linked to the world of the film. The poster for the first chapter reportedly calls the famine "A man made genocide" and adds the line "To starve, to enslave, to conquer." The second chapter is said to ask why the railways were built and how the way people remember them was changed. The third reportedly focuses on men who never bowed to the British.

The series also takes fans behind the camera. Reports say it follows the research and filmmaking process and shows how the team recreated a 19th-century setting through historical references, visual design, costumes and action. It also includes behind-the-scenes moments with the cast and crew. It is being described as the first time the making of a Telugu film has been turned into a documentary series. According to reports, the episodes will be released on YouTube so that everyone can watch them.

Rashmika Mandanna stars opposite Vijay Deverakonda in what is reportedly their first film together since their marriage. Naveen Yerneni and Y Ravi Shankar are producing the film under the Mythri Movie Makers banner. Reports add that Rahul Sankrityan is directing, T-Series is presenting the film, and Ajay-Atul have composed the music.
