Ramayana: Part One will open in international markets on November 5, three days before Diwali. Its release date in India is still not locked.

The new overseas date came from an announcement on the German YouTube channel of Sony Pictures, which handles international distribution for the Nitesh Tiwari film. The English trailer had carried November 6, so the film now arrives a day earlier.

Producer Namit Malhotra explained the Friday plan in August. "The international distribution works from a Friday standpoint," he said, adding that the team was targeting a Diwali release in India. Diwali falls on November 8.

With about a month to go, the makers have not officially fixed the Indian date. Reports say they are weighing paid previews on November 4 and a full release on November 5, which would line up the home opening with the global one.

Ranbir Kapoor plays Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi is Sita and Yash takes on Ravana. Sunny Deol and Ravie Dubey are also in the cast.

This is the first of two films, and part two is set for Diwali 2027. Malhotra has put the cost of both parts together at about $500 million, which he said comes to over Rs 4,000 crore.
