Norwegian Ambassador Points Out Factual Inaccuracies In 'Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway' Film"

Hans Jacob Frydenlund, the Norwegian Ambassador to India, has criticized the movie "Mrs. Chatterjee vs Norway" for its alleged "factual inaccuracies."

Hans Jacob Frydenlund, the Norwegian Ambassador to India, has criticized the movie "Mrs. Chatterjee vs Norway" for its alleged "factual inaccuracies." He claims that the movie presents a fictional representation of a resolved child custody case, in which cultural differences were not the primary factor. The Ambassador has denied that "feeding with hands and sleeping in the same bed" were the reasons for the children's placement in alternative care, and emphasized that child welfare is never motivated by payments or profit.

He fears that the movie may give viewers the wrong impression of Norway, as an uncaring country, and discourage Indians from visiting. However, he acknowledges Rani Mukerji's powerful acting and hopes that viewers will understand that the movie is a work of fiction.

"Mrs. Chatterjee vs Norway," directed by Ashima Chibber, stars Rani Mukerji, Neena Gupta, Jim Sarbh, and Anirban Bhattacharya and released in theaters on March 17.
