Gautham Vasudev Menon’s gangster action film Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu (VTK), starring Simbu in the lead, hit theaters in September 2022. The film received mostly positive reviews and had a good run at the box office. In Telugu, it was released as The Life of Muthu. But the story didn't end in the first film - it left fans hanging with a cliffhanger.

Unfortunately, the sequel never got off the ground, leaving fans wondering why. Recently, Gautham Menon shared the reason. He explained, "We had the script ready for VTK Part 2, but Simbu felt the first film needed a bigger scale and wasn't interested in moving forward with the sequel."

Menon continued, "Around 25 days after VTK's release, Simbu lost interest, not because of box office numbers, but for other reasons. I truly believe it would have been a fantastic two-part film with a strong storyline." In the movie, Siddhi Idnani played Simbu's love interest, with Radhika and Neeraj Madhav in crucial roles.
