Nayyi Navelli box office day 2: Yami Gautam's horror comedy grows slowly on Saturday

Yami Gautam's horror comedy Nayyi Navelli grew on its second day, but the jump was too small to change the outlook for its first weekend.

The Balaji Mohan film added between Rs 3.75 crore and Rs 4 crore nett in India on Saturday. It had opened on Friday with Rs 3 crore to Rs 3.36 crore, depending on the estimate, so its two-day domestic total sits between Rs 6.75 crore and Rs 7.36 crore nett. The Saturday growth works out to 19 to 25 per cent.

Audiences have given the film mixed reactions, and that is the real problem. Without a sharp rise on Sunday, the first weekend looks set to finish somewhere between Rs 10 crore and Rs 13 crore nett.

Monday is now the day to watch. How the film holds on weekdays will decide where it ends up.

Adinath Kothare co-stars, with Sunita Rajwar, Mita Vashisht and Aaditya Kulshreshth in supporting parts. Aanand L Rai and Himanshu Sharma produced the film, and GV Prakash Kumar composed the music.
