MrBeast chants Jai Shree Ram with Ranbir Kapoor at Ramayana event in Mumbai

YouTube star MrBeast gave the Ramayana promotions a global touch in Mumbai, sharing the stage with Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi and Ravie Dubey. Director Nitesh Tiwari and producer Namit Malhotra were also at the event. Malhotra has reportedly spoken about wanting to take the Indian epic to audiences across the world, and bringing in the American creator is part of that push.

The big moment came when Ranbir prompted MrBeast to say "Jai Shree Ram", and the YouTuber repeated it right away. According to reports, the chant drew loud cheers from the crowd, and a video of the exchange has been widely shared online.

Ranbir also reportedly took a moment to tell his guest who Lord Ram is. He described Ram as a prince who had everything but gave it all up to keep his father's promise and carry out his duty. He added that he hoped the film would give MrBeast a first look at Indian culture and history. MrBeast, whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson, is currently visiting India.

Sai Pallavi, who plays Sita, drew attention in a golden tissue silk saree with a heavily embroidered border. She kept her jewellery simple, with gold and pearl earrings and matching bangles. Ranbir and Ravie Dubey both chose kurtas layered with traditional jackets.

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana stars Ranbir as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita and Yash as Ravan. Ravie Dubey reportedly plays Lakshman and Sunny Deol plays Hanuman. The wider cast is said to include Rakul Preet Singh, Vivek Oberoi, Lara Dutta, Arun Govil and Kajal Aggarwal. AR Rahman is composing the music, and reports say Hans Zimmer is working on it with him.

The epic is coming in two parts. Reports differ on the date for Part 1. One puts it at Diwali this year, while another points to a worldwide release on November 6 and an India release on November 8. Part 2 is expected around Diwali 2027.
