Soori's action film Mandaadi is still drawing crowds in its fourth week. On its 23rd day, Friday, October 2, the film reportedly earned Rs 1.38 cr net in India from 650 shows, with occupancy reaching 45%. That is an 8.7% rise over Day 22, when it made Rs 1.27 cr, and reports say about 119,076 people watched it that day.

The film opened big with Rs 57.30 cr net in its first week, then added Rs 26.00 cr in week two and Rs 12.27 cr in week three. With Friday counted, its India net reportedly stands at Rs 96.95 cr and its India gross at Rs 113.04 cr. Overseas markets have added Rs 17.70 cr gross, which takes the worldwide gross to Rs 130.74 cr.

Karthik Subbaraj's Dorothy, with Keerthy Suresh in the title role, finished eight days in theatres on the same day. The film opened on September 25 and has reportedly sparked plenty of talk on social media for its bold content. The October 2 national holiday helped it, even though its shows in India reportedly fell from over 500 to 280.

Reports do not agree on its Indian numbers. One estimate puts the eight day India net at Rs 8.03 cr and the India gross at Rs 9.30 cr, with the Tamil version alone making Rs 1.08 cr on Day 8, up from Rs 78 lakh on Day 7. Another puts the first week at Rs 6.08 cr, Day 8 at Rs 78 lakh, and the eight day total at Rs 6.86 cr net, or Rs 8.09 cr gross.

Overseas, the film is reportedly doing well in North America, where it crossed $180K in its opening week and added $7K on its seventh day. Its shows there are said to have gone up for week two because of audience interest.

Set in rural Tamil Nadu in the 1990s, Dorothy follows two close childhood friends, Karthi and Subbu, in a world shaped by caste, violence and toxic masculinity. Their lives change when Dorothy, a kind woman, arrives and quietly challenges the people around her. Ilaiyaraaja composed the music, his first film with Subbaraj, and Guneet Monga Kapoor, Achin Jain and Jyoti Deshpande produced it.
