Arjun Das confirms Don 3 talks with Farhan Akhtar, says it is no longer happening
Arjun Das has confirmed that Farhan Akhtar approached him for Don 3 and that the two met to discuss it, but says the project is no longer happening for him.
Arjun Das has finally addressed the buzz linking him to Don 3. The Kaithi and Master actor confirmed that Farhan Akhtar did approach him for the film and that the two met to talk it over. He also made it clear that, for now, the collaboration has fallen through.
In a recent interview, Arjun said he felt very lucky to get a call from Farhan and that they did sit down and discuss the project. "It was supposed to happen, but now it's not happening," he said, adding that he did not want to lie about it. He described Farhan as one of the sweetest and most humble people he has met, and said he hopes to work with him soon.
Arjun was reportedly lined up to play the villain, stepping in for Vikrant Massey. His intense grey shaded roles in Lokesh Kanagaraj's Kaithi and later in Master won him a big fan following. Hindi audiences will still see him soon. He has finished a Hindi film that is now in post-production, though he said he does not know when it will release.
Don 3 has been surrounded by uncertainty for a while now. Ranveer Singh was introduced as the new Don, a role earlier played by Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan, but he later walked out of the project. Reports say he exited in December 2025, with script concerns and long delays in starting the shoot among the issues mentioned.
The dispute soon became public. Farhan Akhtar and producer Ritesh Sidhwani approached the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE), which issued a non-cooperation directive against Ranveer and later withdrew it. The makers reportedly asked the actor for compensation of around ₹45 crore, a figure his side has challenged.
With the lead actor gone and the villain plan now off, there is still no clear word on where Don 3 stands.
