Kareena Kapoor Khan joins McLaren's Papaya Family, quizzes Lando Norris over chai

McLaren F1 has welcomed Kareena Kapoor Khan into its Papaya Family, the official global fan community of the Formula 1 team. The team posted her picture on Instagram with the caption, "The newest member of the Papaya Family, Kareena Kapoor Khan."

The actress then sat down with McLaren driver Lando Norris for a special conversation. She opened by joking that her husband Saif Ali Khan had won a "world championship" 19 years ago, a nod to his role as a racing driver in the 2007 film Ta Ra Rum Pum. Norris had a quick reply: "So, we're the same, basically."

Kareena did not go easy on him. She quizzed Norris on his own wins and on McLaren's history in the sport, handed him a cup of Indian masala chai, and asked him to work out what some common Indian gestures mean.

She also posted pictures from the paddock and the circuit on her Instagram Stories. Reports say the chat was filmed at the Singapore Grand Prix.

Fans had the same film in mind. Under McLaren's post, many brought up Ta Ra Rum Pum, and one shared a still of Saif from the movie with the line, "Her favourite driver."
