Jailer 2 director Nelson says Vidya Balan was nervous filming her smoking scene

Director Nelson Dilipkumar has revealed that Vidya Balan was nervous while filming a smoking scene opposite Rajinikanth in Jailer 2. The film hits theatres on October 15.

The scene, which appears in the trailer, was shot on the very first day. Nelson said Vidya plays a powerful character who stands up to Rajinikanth, and she told him she was scared of playing someone that strong.

Things got harder when he asked her to light a cigarette and blow the smoke into the superstar's face. That request doubled her tension. Watching the monitor during the take, Nelson saw her holding the cigarette and moving her hand as if she were putting on lipstick. At that point he felt the shot was not going to work.

They got it right on about the third take. Even now, Nelson said, a little of that nervousness shows in her eyes when you watch the scene.
