Jai Vittalacharya: Celebrating The Legacy Of B. Vittalacharya In Telugu Cinema!

Renowned filmmaker B. Vittalacharya's legacy is celebrated in Pulagam Chinnarayana's book 'Jai Vittalacharya,' launched with Trivikram Srinivas in attendance, showcasing the director's contributions to Telugu cinema.

The renowned folklore films of 'Janapada Brahma' B. Vittalacharya are celebrated by Telugu movie enthusiasts, who hold this yesteryear filmmaker in high regard for his tireless contributions that have left a lasting legacy. Senior journalist and writer, Pulagam Chinnarayana, a passionate film lover himself, has authored a book titled 'Jai Vittalacharya' with the aim of introducing the legendary director's distinctive style and cinematic treatment to a new generation of cinephiles. The book meticulously chronicles Vittalacharya's cinematic journey.

Published by Zeelan Basha Shaikh under the banner of Movie Volume Media, the book launch event took place today. It was graced by the presence of star director 'Matala Mantrikudu' Trivikram Srinivas. The first copy of the book was presented to Ravi Padi, a senior civil servant and bureaucrat with the Indian Railways.

Trivikram Srinivas, speaking at the event, commended Pulagam Chinnarayana, whom he has known for years. He expressed his admiration for Vittalacharya, referring to him as the Father of Telugu Mass Cinema and Folklore Cinema. Trivikram highlighted Vittalacharya's pioneering work in filmmaking during an era when VFX technology was not prevalent. He acknowledged that the present generation is often unaware of the immense success, reach, and popularity that Vittalacharya enjoyed during his time. Trivikram applauded Chinnarayana's efforts in bringing Vittalacharya's life and works to light and expressed his hope that such endeavours would foster a culture of reading books, especially about cinema and Telugu literature.

Pulagam Chinnarayana shared his enthusiasm for writing the book, stating that he completed it as swiftly as Vittalacharya used to create his movies. He introduced several stalwarts from the world of cinema featured in the book and recounted his personal interactions with Vittalacharya's family members. The book delves into the behind-the-scenes aspects of 39 movies directed by the iconic filmmaker, revealing intriguing anecdotes and previously undisclosed information.

Ravi Padi, who received the first copy of the book, praised Chinnarayana's extensive research and dedication to documenting the history of Telugu cinema, encouraging him to continue producing such valuable literary works.

Zeelan Basha Shaikh, representing Movie Volume Media, expressed pride in publishing the book and fondly recalled Superstar Krishna unveiling its cover page. The event was a memorable one, and Zeelan Basha Shaikh extended gratitude to Trivikram for gracing the occasion with his presence.
