Indian 3 is back on as Kamal Haasan and Shankar resume work after two years

Indian 3 is moving again. The makers have officially announced that work on the Kamal Haasan and Shankar film will resume, ending two years of silence around the third instalment.

Lyca Productions said Senapathy is back with zero tolerance, and the announcement carried the line "The Resurgence Begins". A new poster gives the film the subtitle War Mode. It shows three riders charging across a dusty landscape, with Kamal Haasan in his two avatars and Kajal Aggarwal riding alongside.

The film's future had been in doubt since Indian 2 reached theatres in 2024. That release fell well short of expectations at the box office, and shooting on the remaining portions of the third part was put on hold. Many people had stopped expecting it to move ahead at all.

That question is now settled. Kamal Haasan returns as Senapathy, and the pending work is set to restart.
