Shankar Mahadevan is an Indian film Playback Singer and Music Composer. He mainly works in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada film industries. He made his debut with the Tamil film Minsara Kanavu in the year 1997. He composed the music first Telugu film was Choodalani Vundi in 1998. He got his first award as a playback singer in Chennai film music, collaborating with A. R. Rahman and winning a National Film Award.
