Harish Uthaman says Ranbir Kapoor's Rama moved him to tears on the Ramayana set
Harish Uthaman, who plays Vibhishana in Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana, says Ranbir Kapoor's performance as Rama in the scene where Vibhishana joins Rama's side left him teary-eyed.
Harish Uthaman says one scene opposite Ranbir Kapoor in Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana brought tears to his eyes. The actor is well known in South Indian cinema and plays Vibhishana in the mythological epic. The film is his Hindi debut.
The scene shows Vibhishana crossing over to Lord Rama's side while Hanuman, Lakshman and their troops look on. In an interview, Harish said the way Ranbir delivers his lines as Rama "automatically gets to you". He said he got emotional at the moment Rama accepts Vibhishana into his camp.
He told Ranbir about it as soon as the shot was done. Harish called it a beautiful and magical moment. He said that when a co-star brings real emotion to a scene, the other actor performs better too.
Producer Namit Malhotra's Ramayana has already shown its scale in a teaser. Fans are now comparing it with SS Rajamouli's Varanasi, which has a Ramayana episode of its own. Rajamouli has said he was never fully happy with how Indian epics have been shown on screen, and he sees Varanasi as his chance to give them the grandeur they deserve.
