Hanuman Ansh closes in on 400 crore worldwide after 52 days in theatres

Devotional drama Hanuman Ansh is still drawing crowds more than seven weeks into its run. After 52 days, the Vishal Chaturvedi directorial has reportedly collected 393.61 crore gross worldwide, which leaves it about 6.39 crore short of the 400 crore mark. Getting there would reportedly make it the 32nd Hindi film ever to join the 400 crore club.

Reports put the film's India gross at 362.36 crore and its India net at 307.03 crore, with overseas markets adding 31.25 crore gross. Those numbers look even bigger next to its reported budget of just 1.8 crore. On that basis, the film is said to have made a profit of 305.23 crore from its domestic run alone, a return on investment of 16,957.2%.

Over its eighth weekend, Hanuman Ansh reportedly moved past the lifetime worldwide totals of Simmba (393.01 crore), Adipurush (390.01 crore) and Happy New Year (385 crore). Reports say 3 Idiots, Dilwale and Prem Ratan Dhan Payo are next in line, and the Aamir Khan film is only 40 lakh ahead.

The figures do not all line up. Another trade estimate puts the film at around 294 crore and does not say whether that number is net or gross. Either way, both reports agree that Hanuman Ansh is still one of the strongest performers in theatres right now.

The rest of the box office is busy too. The Vvaan, starring Sidharth Malhotra and Tamannaah Bhatia, reportedly earned about 33.30 crore over its three-day opening weekend. Mass circuits in Bihar, Rajasthan and West Bengal carried it, while national multiplexes stayed average. The Avengers: Endgame Encore re-release reportedly made about 22 crore in three days, ahead of Avengers Doomsday on December 18.

For Telugu fans, Nani's The Paradise has reportedly collected 110 crore from its Telugu version in four days, though the Hindi version managed only 4.44 crore. Mirzapur: The Movie stands at 211.53 crore, and Resident Evil has reached 15.36 crore.
