Farhan Akhtar's Toofaan Will Premiere On Amazon Prime Video On The 16th Of July

The whole film industry was on another pause since there were lockdowns all over the country due to the drastic second wave of COVID-19. It hasn't been much time since the lockdowns were relaxed and the filmmakers across the country began their work. One of them is Farhan Akhtar who recommenced his shoot for his upcoming sports drama, Toofaan. The new release date for Toofaan after a few postponements is now July 16, 2021.

Farhan Akhtar took it to his Twitter handle and announced the release details of his much-awaited film. 

With humility, love and in dedication to the fighting spirit of the beautiful people of our nation, our film ‘Toofaan’ will be releasing on July 16th. #ToofaanOnPrime

The plot of this film revolves around Ajju, an orphan in Mumbai who grows up in brash conditions and ends up becoming a thug. Destiny brings him to meet a charming and kind woman, Ananya, who then carves Ajju's path towards the world of boxing, where his newfound boxer personality is redefined as Aziz Ali, a victor in boxing.

Toofaan is directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra and produced by a triple collaboration of Ritesh Sidhwani Farhan Akhtar and the director himself. The lead cast of this film features Farhan Akhtar, Paresh Rawal, and Mrunal Thakur. Toofaan will hit the OTT screens of Amazon Prime Video in India and across 240 countries on July 16th, 2021.
