Chandrayaan First Signal teaser: three dreamers plan a rocket trip to the moon

Chandrayaan has dropped its First Signal teaser, and it sets up a comic adventure with its roots firmly in Telangana. Venu Udugula presents the film, coming to it on the back of the success of Raju Weds Rambai. The teaser promises an offbeat tale packed with odd characters and plenty of surprises.

At the centre are three youngsters whose dreams run far ahead of anything they have actually achieved. Things kick off when they measure themselves against big names like Allu Arjun and Virat Kohli and realise how little they have to show for themselves. Stung by the comparison, they decide to pull off something huge: put together a rocket in Mandamarri and fly to the moon.

What follows is a run of homemade experiments as the mission slowly takes shape. In the trio's playful universe, even ISRO is reimagined as MSRO. The clip shows them assembling a rocket and even trying to send a chicken into space, with failed attempts and a fair amount of chaos along the way.

The makers hold back on the plot instead of giving it away. That choice leaves viewers wondering just how far these three will go to chase a dream that looks impossible from the start.

Shivakumar Dheekonda, Swapna Priyadarshini, Ravi Shivateja, Vamshidhar, Lokesh and Balagam Satyanarayana play key roles. Srinath Chandrasekhar directs the film and has also written its story, screenplay and dialogues. Praveen Molaka produces it under the Simba Screen Stories banner.

On the technical side, Harsha Praveen composes the music, Srinivasa B handles the camera and Pullarao Dasari edits. Shashi Kosuri designs the costumes, while Sridhar Mestri and Mandar Pasnekar take care of production design. Chandrayaan is gearing up for a big theatrical release on October 30.
