Vijay Deverakonda has given fans a playful look behind the scenes of Ranabaali. He posted a short clip from the sets on Instagram in which Rashmika Mandanna copies his body language and delivers his lines during a break in filming. The video has quickly spread across social media.

In the clip, Rashmika reportedly walks up to Vijay as he sits on a swing chair, imitates his Ranabaali mannerisms and says the line "This is Singanamala Bobbili Ranabaali," which comes from the teaser where his character is introduced. She then covers her mouth and blushes. Vijay called her a "Cute Savage" in his post and described her as his daily entertainment and his escape from the seriousness of work.

Ranabaali is a period action drama directed by Rahul Sankrityan, and it is set to reach cinemas on October 16, 2026. Vijay plays the title role, reportedly a man from Rayalaseema who rises against British rule, while Rashmika plays Jayamma, his wife and partner in that fight. Reports say the film will release in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam, with the trailer expected on October 7. Hollywood actor Arnold Vosloo is also reportedly in the cast as Sir Theodore Hector, an English oppressor.

The film is reportedly the couple's third project together and their first since they married in Udaipur on February 26, 2026.

In a recent interview with Rashmika by his side, Vijay reportedly spoke about how he chooses scripts. He said an actor is only one piece of a film, and that everything from the director's choices to the music, the edit and the public mood at release decides whether it works. He insisted he has loved every script he signed and brings the same passion to each one.

He also opened up about Liger, the 2022 film he admitted drew the heaviest backlash. Vijay said the story of an underdog from Karimnagar mirrored his own life, and suggested that perhaps the way the team executed it did not land. Reports say his lineup after Ranabaali includes Rowdy Janardhana and a film with Hi Nanna director Shouryuv.
