Arjun Das and Aishwarya Lekshmi lead Netflix romance series #Love

Aishwarya Lekshmi and Arjun Das headline #Love, a Tamil romantic comedy series now streaming on Netflix. Aishwarya plays Tara, the founder and CEO of a dating app. The show uses that world to explore modern romance and the old question of chemistry against compatibility.

According to reports, the series runs six episodes of 30 to 40 minutes each. Soundarya Rajinikanth created it and Balaji Mohan directed it. Tara runs an app called Found. Arjun Das plays Matthew, the biggest shareholder in a rival app named Find My Bae. A flirty first meeting turns into a 60-day challenge, with Matthew agreeing to invest in Tara's company if her app finds him a partner.

Early reaction has been mixed. One review praised the easy chemistry between the two leads, the glossy picture of Chennai and the warm side relationships, especially Matthew's bond with his stepsister Mia. Gayatri Hariharan and Arjun Chidambaram were also noted for making an impression in small roles. The same review felt the show leaned too much on long, preachy conversations and was too polished for its emotional moments to land.

Away from the screen, Aishwarya has reportedly said she once kept her distance from dating apps. She turned down well-paid endorsement offers for such apps because she was not comfortable promoting them, and the profiles she saw on a brief look put her off. Her view has since softened after seeing people meet their partners through these apps, though she urged users to stay alert and double-check everything.

The actress also explained why she chose a lighter project. After a run of serious roles, she wanted to play someone closer to her own age, and she enjoyed Tara's mix of swagger, smarts and the odd bad decision. She said she was happy Netflix approached her for the part, and that she felt at home in the character from the look test itself.
