Anupama Parameswaran turns judge on ETV's Dhee 21: Double Impact

Anupama Parameswaran has stepped into television as a judge on ETV's dance reality show Dhee 21: Double Impact.

On a podcast, the actress said she never expected an offer like this. Her wish to try new creative things led her to accept. Short films, music videos and movies had already helped her find new interests, she said, and a dance show gives her one more way to connect with audiences.

In films, her next release is Crazy Kalyanam, a comedy about marriage that arrives in the Dasara 2026 season. Anupama plays the female lead opposite Akhil Raj Uddemari, known for Raju Weds Rambai. Naresh Vijay Krishna and Tharun Bhascker also have key roles.

Akhil said he was the first actor cast in the film. He once had a small part in Rowdy Boys, where Anupama was the heroine, and his mother told him then to act with her once he became a hero. "I am happy that I am now acting with Anupama in this film and fulfilling my mother's wish," he said.

At first he felt nervous, Akhil admitted, but her support had him at ease within half a day. The two talked through every scene before the camera rolled. He called the film a story set in "our villages and homes" and said a good film would take actors like him further than market or commercial factors.
