Story

The movie opens with fifty back-to-back robberies that took place in various parts of Hyderabad city in a single day on August 15th (Independence Day). The police starts searching for the robbers who targeted the homes of senior citizens by covering their faces with masks. The robbers also stole the Ashok Chakra, the pride of Chandru (Vishal)’s family. IPS officer Gayathri (Shraddha Srinath) takes up the case. Can she solve the case with the help of her love interest Chandru? Forms the rest of the story.

Review

The entire first half is full of surprises and thrilling elements. The interval bang is quite good too. But, just when the audience are getting involved in the story, the second half fell flat and is very boring. The proceeding became slow, the villain character which was showcased powerfully in the first half became weak and the climax is predictable.

Coming to the technical elements, music by Yuvan Shankar Raja is the biggest plus point. Only because of his BGM, at least a couple of scenes succeeded in engaging the audience. Production values are decent. Cinematography is top-notch and a fight sequence is picturized very well.

Talking about the performances, Vishal is too good in his role. He has blended with his role and pulled off his role with ease. Shraddha is good in her role. Except for the actor who played the villain role, the rest of the actors are wasted.

Verdict

'Chakra' is a thriller film with clever deductions, slow narration, and a predictable story.
