Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar

Story 

Sandy Walia aka Sandeep (Parineeti Chopra) works for a bank. She has a fling with the boss Parichay (Dinkar) and also gets pregnant. Parichay who is a fraud is not ready to accept the child. So, Sandeep decides to expose him and Parichay wants to kill her. He also hires a corrupt police officer Tyagi (Jaideep Ahlawat) to kill her. On the other hand, Pinky (Arjun Kapoor) who is a suspended cop gets onboard to kill her. He has to pick up Sandeep and the police plans to kill them both. So, Sandeep and Pinky ran away from there. Sandeep requests him to drop her safely in Nepal and also offers 10 lacs to him. Pinky also accepts the offer and they both sets out to reach the border of India and Nepal. Meanwhile, they also bump into an old couple Neena Gupta and Raghubir Yadav. What happens next forms the crux of the story. 

Review

The story is so boring and slow that most of the audience doesn't even understand the proceedings. The screenplay is also very bad. Despite having some emotional sequences, the audience failed to connect with the story because of the slow narrative. The script is decent but didn't get executed properly and the director doesn't convey what intended to do. He tried to showcase that the movie is a collaboration of two different worlds of Sandeep and Pinky but missed some crucial details which make the audience lose interest.  

Screenplay by Dibakar Banerjee is really bad and slow. Despite having some bright moments here and there, his sloppy narration will irk the audience. Cinematography by Anil Mehta is too good. He has captured some beautiful visuals for the film. Editing could have been better as there are so many unnecessary scenes in the film and the story also became dull because of the blunt editing. Production values are quite good. The background score by Dibakar Banerjee is just average. 

Arjun Kapoor is decent in his role. Though there is nothing to rave about his character, he did well in his role. Parineeti delivered an honest performance in the film. Though she gets brownie points for her performance, her role doesn't succeed in grabbing the attention of the audience. Neena Gupta is a fantastic actress and she went under the skin of the character. Raghubir Yadav is also excellent and so is Jaideep Ahlawat. Rahul Kumar blended well with his character. The rest of the actors also made their presence felt. 

Verdict

Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar is a slow-paced boring action drama which fails to engage the audience despite having some fine performances and scope of thrills in the script.
