Vikram Prabhu's 26th Film City of Gold Unveils First Look and Glimpse

Vikram Prabhu's 26th film now has a name, City of Gold, and the makers have released its first look along with a glimpse. The crime thriller is the directorial debut of Siddharth. The poster and the video have both drawn interest from fans very quickly.

The first look shows Vikram Prabhu with an intense expression as he casually tosses and catches gold bars. The image hints at a story where gold is much more than a precious metal, with a secretive world built around it.

The glimpse takes viewers deeper into that world. It shows the gold trade, the people who run it and a hidden network that outsiders rarely see, while keeping the bigger conflict under wraps. Reports say the video also points to a gold smuggling operation linked to Coimbatore, with authorities, traders and shadowy figures in the mix. Vikram Prabhu makes a strong impression in a serious role, and his commanding screen presence stands out.

Shivathmika Rajashekar plays the female lead. Raahul, who is also producing the film under the Romeo Pictures banner, and Amala Shaji play key roles. The wider cast includes GM Sundar, Alagam Perumal, Jaffer Idukki, Vasundhara and several others.

On the technical side, Yuvan Shankar Raja's music builds a tense and mysterious mood, and Karthik Sharaj's cinematography gives the dark setting a striking look. Arul Moses A is reportedly handling the editing, with Hari Haran PS reportedly on production design.

The film has been shot across Coimbatore, Chennai and Kerala, and the final schedule is reportedly underway. The story follows the people behind the glittering gold business and the incidents that happen away from public view. Reports say it is a Tamil film that will also reach Telugu audiences in a dubbed version, and its release date is yet to be announced.
