Bollywood veteran actor and BJP leader, Mithun Chakraborty, has been selected for India's top cinematic award, the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award. Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw shared the exciting news earlier today, praising Mithun Da for his inspiring journey that has touched the hearts of many generations.

Mithun Chakraborty will receive the esteemed Dadasaheb Phalke Award at the 70th National Film Awards ceremony on October 8. "Mithun Da's incredible cinematic voyage continues to inspire us all! Thrilled to announce that the Dadasaheb Phalke Selection Jury has chosen the legendary actor, Sh. Mithun Chakraborty Ji, for his unforgettable contributions to Indian Cinema. The award presentation will take place on Oct 8, 2024," tweeted minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on X.

Mithun Chakraborty made his Hindi Cinema debut in 1976 with the film Mrigayaa, which earned him the National Film Award for Best Actor. His sensational performance in the 1982 hit Disco Dancer solidified his status as a dancing star.
