SS Rajamouli backs Ranbir Kapoor's Ramayana ahead of its November 5 release
SS Rajamouli shared the new Ramayana trailer on X, praised Nitesh Tiwari and Namit Malhotra for the scale of the film, and said he is looking forward to its 5 November release.
SS Rajamouli has come out in support of Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana. He shared the film's new trailer on X and wished the team well ahead of its 5 November release.
"Ramayana is a story every Indian storyteller grows up aspiring to tell," the RRR director wrote. He said it was a joy to watch Tiwari and producer Namit Malhotra bring the epic to the screen on such a grand canvas, and that every actor gives these old characters real depth. He signed off by saying he was waiting for 5 November.
Ranbir Kapoor, Yash and Sai Pallavi lead the cast. The new trailer runs 2 minutes 36 seconds. It opens with a narrator describing a world in perfect order, until Ravana rises, "born from fire and fury". Ranbir's Rama is seen facing up to his destiny and vowing he "will not hesitate to destroy him". Kunal Kapoor appears as Lord Indra, and the cut ends with Ravana warning, "This is just... the beginning."
Some viewers criticised the visual effects in the first trailer. The team asked audiences to wait and judge the finished film in theatres. The makers now present it as a big-screen event in 3D, IMAX and other premium formats, and promise "the most immersive 3D cinematic experience ever".
The post has an extra link for Telugu fans. Rajamouli's own next film, Varanasi, reportedly includes an episode from the Ramayana.
