Shriram Nene marks 27th anniversary with Madhuri Dixit, shares unseen wedding photos

Dr Shriram Nene celebrated 27 years of marriage to Madhuri Dixit by posting wedding pictures fans had never seen. All of them were taken at the Beverly Hills courthouse in California, where the couple married in 1999.

The cardiovascular surgeon shared the set on social media with a warm note to his wife. "Two incredible sons, countless memories, a few challenges, lots of laughter, and a lifetime of love later, I'd choose you all over again," he wrote, and he signed off with "To infinity and beyond, together."

One frame shows Nene, in a dark suit and patterned tie, sliding a ring onto Madhuri's finger as she smiles in an ivory outfit. Others show the pair at a celebratory meal and raising a toast with family and friends.

They kept the wedding private. Madhuri, born on May 15, 1967, was already one of the biggest stars in Hindi cinema, while Nene had grown up in the United States and had little idea how famous she was. Her brother introduced them, and the actress has spoken about how much she valued that he saw her as a person, not a celebrity.

After the wedding she moved to Denver, Colorado, where Nene was building his medical career. Their sons Arin and Ryan were born in March 2003 and March 2005.

Madhuri came back to the big screen in 2007 with Anil Mehta's musical drama Aaja Nachle, playing a dancer named Dia. The family moved back to India in 2011, and her films since then include Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, Gulaab Gang, Total Dhamaal, Kalank, Maja Ma and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3.
