Ravi Kishan to lead Mahaveer Jain Films' devotional drama, shoot from January

Ravi Kishan has signed on to headline a devotional drama presented by Mahaveer Jain Films. The project puts the actor at the centre of the story, with the narrative built entirely around his character. It is his second film with the banner after Naagzilla, the Kartik Aaryan starrer.

Amit Aarryan writes and directs. The story follows a man whose bond with God goes well beyond regular devotion, to the point where he treats God as his closest friend. The makers plan to present the subject in an accessible and entertaining way rather than as a conventional devotional film.

While faith sits at the core, the film mixes in humour, strong emotion and plenty of drama. It is being positioned as a clean, wholesome entertainer that families can watch together. Reports say Ravi Kishan was deeply impressed by the script and agreed to come on board right away.

Mahaveer Jain Films presents the film and produces it along with Mrighdeep Singh Lamba, Vinayak Kumar, Kavin Shah and Shikha K Ahluwalia. RatPack Stories' Vijay Subramanium and Kshitij Mehta are also on board as producers. The banner has been busy of late, delivering the title track of Yeh Prem Mol Liya and announcing RamBola, to be directed by Hanuman Ansh director Vishal Chaturvedi.

The film is expected to go on floors in January. The title has not been locked yet, and an official announcement is likely once the makers settle on one.

The signing caps a strong run for Ravi Kishan, who has recently been seen in Mirzapur The Movie, Laapataa Ladies and Maamla Legal Hai. The actor-politician has reportedly appeared in over 200 films across Bhojpuri, Hindi, Telugu and Kannada. He is said to have first found wide attention with the 2003 hit Tere Naam before becoming a leading man in Bhojpuri cinema.
