A lot has been going on ever since the announcement of Alaukik Desai’s upcoming film 'Sita'. The male lead of this film is none other than Bollywood's fashion icon Ranveer Singh who was approached to play the role of Ravana. The latest update for the cast selection is that Kareena Kapoor is now roped in to portray the character of Sita in this film. That said, Ranveer Singh and Kareena Kapoor will be starring together as the main leads for the first time in this mythological-themed film.

A source close to the film crew stated some more information to an entertainment media. They said, "The makers have approached Ranveer to play Ravana. If this happens, it might be the first-ever film that Ranveer and Kareena will be doing together. They were supposed to do Ram Leela but it didn't work out. Both of them loved their parts and are waiting for the final narration to give a go-ahead to the project.”

Although before Sita, Kareena, and Ranveer were supposed to star together in Karan Johar’s Takht. Nevertheless, that film had been shelved off for unknown reasons. Though there were never any official announcements if the two would have had the chance to co-star in it.
