Ranabaali makers deny AP ticket price hike as trailer date is set for October 8
Mythri Movie Makers has reportedly called claims of a ticket price hike request for Ranabaali in Andhra Pradesh completely false, while the Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna film's trailer is due on October 8.
Mythri Movie Makers has reportedly dismissed claims that it asked for permission to raise ticket prices in Andhra Pradesh for Ranabaali, the period action drama starring Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna. In a statement shared on X on Sunday, the banner called those reports "completely false". It added that it had not applied for any increase in either of the two Telugu states.
According to reports, the producers also confirmed that the film will play at regular ticket rates when it opens in theatres on October 16, during the Dussehra holiday season. The team said it was confident that fans would enjoy a big screen outing this festive period.
The clarification comes at a sensitive moment. Ticket prices in Andhra Pradesh are tightly controlled, and any hike needs the state government's approval. Reports say the issue has been one of the most heated debates in the Telugu film industry for around two years, with producers and exhibitors arguing that capped rates make it harder to recover growing budgets. Telangana follows a similar system, in which the state government holds the final say.
Meanwhile, the promotional campaign is moving into its next phase. The theatrical trailer will reportedly arrive on October 8, a week before the release, as announced in a post by the production house. The team has teased it as the legend of a cursed land.
Directed by Rahul Sankrityan, Ranabaali casts Vijay as Singanamala Bobbili Ranabaali, a warrior from Rayalaseema who stands up to British colonial forces during a famine under British rule. Rashmika plays Jayamma, while South African actor Arnold Vosloo reportedly plays the British villain, Sir Theodore Hector. Mythri Movie Makers produces the film and T-Series presents it, with the duo Ajay-Atul handling the music.
The film is also expected to face a tough fight for screens. Reports say Rajinikanth's Jailer 2 opens a day earlier, on October 15, and the two films will compete across the Telugu and Tamil markets.
