Ranabaali drops new poster, reportedly holds October 16 release date

Vijay Deverakonda is chasing a big comeback with Ranabaali, and the team behind the Rahul Sankrityan film appears to be keeping its plans firm. According to reports, the makers have released a fresh poster of the actor to underline that the film is still set for an October 16 release. The new still reportedly shows Vijay receiving a tilak.

Ranabaali is described as a period action drama set in the 19th century. Reports say the story deals with a food crisis of that era, triggered by atrocities carried out by British generals. Rashmika Mandanna is reportedly paired opposite Vijay as the female lead.

The promotions are also picking up pace. The first single, Endhayya Saami, came out recently and is said to have drawn a good response from listeners. According to reports, the theatrical trailer is due very soon. Mythri Movie Makers is reportedly producing the film, with the Ajay-Atul duo handling the music.

The poster arrives at a time when a different kind of conversation is doing the rounds in film circles. Rather than release clashes or box office rivalry, the talk this time is about second halves. Industry buzz reportedly suggests that the later portions of a few big October releases may not match the impact of their first halves.

Ranabaali is one of the films named in that chatter, alongside Rajinikanth's Jailer 2, directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, and Venkatesh's AK 47, directed by Trivikram Srinivas.
