Tollywood is crazy about biopics. At present, there are a lot of biopics, which are all set to stage before the audience. The trending buzz is about Sobhan Babu's biopic featuring Rana Daggubati in the lead role. Uppu Sobhana Chalapathi Rao, aka Sobhan Babu, is a household name in the Telugu film fraternity. He has acted in 230 movies in which he played a lead in about 200 movies. Sobhan Babu received the Filmfare Award four times, and the Nandi Award five times besides, also awarded AP Cine Goers Award eight times. He was a very talented and disciplined actor who died early.

Before considering Rana, a lot of young heroes have been approached, but the makers of the movie zeroed in on Rana Daggubati. Yet, there is no confirmation about Rana accepting the role, as Rana is busy shooting for Hiranyakashyapa, directed by Rana. Sobhan Babu's biopic is in the pre-production stage and will take quite a good time to go on the sets. An official confirmation about the same is awaited from Rana.
