Established in 1969, the Dadasaheb Phalke Award is India's most distinguished award in the film industry. It is bestowed yearly at the National Film Awards Ceremony by the Directorate of Film Festivals, an association of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. Union Minister for Information & Broadcasting Prakash Javadekar has declared that the 51st award will be granted to the legendary superstar Rajinikanth.
Rajinikanth has invested 45 years of his life in this film industry and is one of the most celebrated actors. He is known for delivering impeccable performances through flawless acting and has never failed to impress his massive fanbase. Most of his films are famous for blowing up the box-office and being iconic to this day. He is also known for his integrity, benevolence, and compassion in his personal life towards the public.
Although it is hard to ignore the timing that this award is announced for Superstar Rajinikanth. The award announcement has befallen when the Tamil Nadu assembly elections are just five days apart. It is alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party aka BJP wants Rajinikanth’s assistance and for the purpose to lure him, this award might have been declared. Hence it is deemed off as a political motive that is not looking good for this party.
Nonetheless, Rajinikanth truly deserves this prestigious honor as he has dedicated his life to make the South film industry superior by making chartbuster films and also motivating countless young aspiring actors.
