A Pan India Star in Gunasekhar's Shaakuntalam?

The news is abuzz that Gunasekhar is considering a Pan India star for his magnum opus, a mythological film Shaakuntalam. The director is on the hunt for finding a suitable match for his Dushyant's role. It is believed that Gunasekhar is considering a Malayalam Actor, of Pan India fame. The movie got the much-required hype when Samantha Akkineni gave her nod for the titular role of Shakunthala. All eyes were on the release of Teja Sajja starer film, Zombie Reddy, which was supposed to be released for Sankranti. However, the makers of the movie backed-off from the Sankranti race and came up with a new release date. It is now official that the movie is going to come before the audience on the 5th of February 2021. The director of the film Prasanth Varma clarified the postponement of the movie's release. It is now official that Sai Pallavi will be acting in the Ayyapanum Kohiyum remake. The movie shoot is soon going to begin in February 2021. Earlier Pawan Kalyan made it clear that he is going to do the remake of the Malayalam blockbuster. Initially, the makers of the movie offered Sai Pallavi a heft remuneration for the film, but she refused it. However, she made up her mind and accepted the role now.
