Manoj Bajpayee talks Last Man in Tower as a Family Man film is reportedly explored

Manoj Bajpayee is having a busy stretch. His new film, Last Man in Tower, is now running in cinemas, and the National Award winning actor has been speaking about the man he plays in it. At the same time, reports suggest that his popular web series The Family Man could one day reach theatres too.

The film is adapted from Aravind Adiga's novel of the same name and unfolds against a fast changing Mumbai. Bajpayee plays a widowed, retired schoolteacher living in an old apartment block. When a rich developer offers the residents a large sum to sell up and make room for a luxury tower, most of them are tempted. His character refuses to leave and ends up as the only thing standing in the way of the project.

During promotions in Andheri West, alongside actress Divya Dutta and director Ben Rekhi, Bajpayee reportedly described the character as someone who sees the world only as right or wrong. He said the man is hooked on being the good one, the bigger person in his family, and helped his brothers so much that he neglected his own home. When his son finally points this out, that proud self image falls apart. "Sometimes we get addicted to our own greatness," the actor said, adding that people often fail to see how that greatness causes problems for others.

Meanwhile, reports say a film version of The Family Man is being considered. The idea has reportedly existed for some time, and the team is said to be actively working on the concept now. It is also reportedly not inspired by Mirzapur, which recently moved beyond streaming.

Before any film, the focus is said to stay on the fourth season. A basic storyboard has reportedly been prepared, and if plans hold, shooting could start in early 2027. Created by Raj and DK, the series stars Bajpayee with Sharib Hashmi, Priyamani and Sharad Kelkar, and has become one of India's most loved streaming franchises. Raj Nidimoru has not yet responded to the reports.
