Salman Khan joins Shanaya Munot and Bhavik Merchant's engagement in Mumbai

Salman Khan turned up on Saturday, October 17, to celebrate the engagement of Shanaya Munot and Bhavik Merchant at a small family function in Mumbai.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Shaina NC, the fashion designer who is also a Shiv Sena leader. The family hosted the ceremony at their home, Shanti Bungalow on Nepean Sea Road, while Navratri celebrations were under way.

In a navy blue shirt and jeans, the actor kept his look simple. He moved among the guests, wished the couple well and stood with them for photos.

Politics had a strong presence at the function too. Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and MNS chief Raj Thackeray both came to congratulate the pair.

Shaina first shared the news on October 11 in a social media post. Marking the occasion during Navratri, she said the family was overjoyed, thanked God, her parents, relatives and friends for their blessings, and wished the couple a lifetime together.

Shanaya runs her own business, and Bhavik founded SwanSAT, the technology wing of SwanCorp.

His upcoming films include Maatrubhumi: May War Rest in Peace and Monster.
