Let's Put Kalki 2 On Hold; Deepika's First Priority Is Her Daughter Dua.

Bollywood superstar Deepika Padukone, who played a pivotal role in Prabhas’ sci-fi mythological epic Kalki 2898 AD, is set to have an even more significant presence in the highly anticipated sequel. The production for Kalki 2 is slated to begin in the summer of 2025.

Despite her professional commitments, Deepika has made it clear that her daughter, Dua Padukone Singh, remains her top priority. At a recent event hosted by Deepika and her husband, Ranveer Singh, to introduce Dua to the Bollywood media, the actress shared her thoughts on balancing work and family. When asked about filming Kalki 2, Deepika revealed that she’s in no rush to return to work as she prefers to raise her daughter without relying on a nanny. “I will raise my daughter myself, just as my mom raised me,” Deepika stated.

Directed by Nag Ashwin and produced by Ashwini Dutt under Vyjayanthi Movies, Kalki 2 will feature Indian cinema legends Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan in key roles. Notably, over 30% of the sequel was filmed during the production of the first installment. Kalki 2 is expected to hit theaters globally in 2026, continuing the saga that has captured audiences’ imaginations.
