Laxman Utekar Speaks About Mimi Being Leaked Online

Mimi director Laxman Utekar has shared his thoughts on the film leaking online four days before its scheduled release. As damage control, the film's release was moved up.

Yesterday the internet was abuzz with applause and great reviews for Mimi. The Kriti Sanon starrer which was meant to stream from July 30th went online three days before its release date. This action was taken by the makers as they got to know about their film being leaked online.

The entire movie was leaked online and piracy hit the film even before it could stream on two OTT platforms. The makers made a smart move and decided to release the film earlier on to limit risk. Today, the director of MimiLaxman Utekar spoke to a reporter and shared his thoughts on how he felt knowing that the film was leaked, “I feel hurt because we worked hard on the film. It took us two years to make Mimi. We waited long for the theatres to open, but the situation constrained us to release it on OTT. We were pleased with the fact that it will be watched by the audience, (no matter the medium). After what happened on Monday, we were astonished. It made us think if we could have been more careful.”

The film’s release was a perfect gift to Mimi aka Kriti Sanon. Kriti Sanon marked her birthday yesterday and with the film opening to such a positive response, we are sure the actor is on cloud nine. The film is also being appreciated for its screenplay, Pankaj Tripathi’s amazing act and Sai Tamhankar’s supporting act.
