Hanuman Ansh holds firm on Day 68 as India net passes Rs 319 crore
Vishal Chaturvedi's devotional drama Hanuman Ansh earned a little more on its 68th day, a Tuesday, than it did on Monday, and its India net total is now above Rs 319 crore.
Hanuman Ansh earned more on its 68th day than the day before. Vishal Chaturvedi's devotional drama brought in between Rs 1.15 crore and Rs 1.30 crore net in India on Tuesday. Monday's figure was lower.
Tracking figures do not agree on the exact total. They put the film's India net anywhere from Rs 319.80 crore to Rs 337.03 crore after 68 days. Either way, the film about Neem Karoli Baba has become a long-distance runner at the ticket window.
The start was slow. It made only about Rs 1 crore in its first week, and less than that in its second. Then word of mouth took over. Week three crossed Rs 10 crore, week four went past Rs 58 crore, and week five was the best of the run, at roughly Rs 85 crore to Rs 90 crore.
Since then the numbers have come down slowly, not sharply. Week six added more than Rs 76 crore, week seven over Rs 42 crore and week eight over Rs 27 crore. Week nine came close to Rs 10 crore.
Telugu audiences are the newest part of the story. The Telugu version, which reports say reached theatres on October 9, is only in its first week while the Hindi version is in its tenth.
