Drishyam The Conclusion reportedly crosses Rs 177 crore worldwide in two days
Ajay Devgn's Drishyam The Conclusion reportedly grossed Rs 177.10 crore worldwide in its first two days despite a second day dip, while Tabu and Shriya Saran watched the film with regular audiences.
Ajay Devgn's Drishyam The Conclusion is holding strong at the box office after its October 2 release. The film reportedly earned Rs 53.50 crore net in India on its second day. That is a drop of 13.7 percent from its Rs 62 crore opening. Even with the dip, trade figures put its worldwide gross at Rs 177.10 crore after just two days.
Reports say the India net total now stands at Rs 115.50 crore, with the India gross at Rs 138.60 crore. Overseas markets added Rs 20 crore on day two, taking the overseas gross to Rs 38.50 crore. The makers have not announced a budget, but the production cost is reportedly around Rs 110 crore. If that figure is right, the film has already passed it in worldwide gross. The real test is whether it can keep this pace through the first weekend.
The final chapter brings back Shriya Saran, Tabu, Rajat Kapoor, Ishita Dutta and Mrunal Jadhav in their earlier roles, while Jaideep Ahlawat and Prakash Raj join the cast. Early reactions from critics and audiences have been mostly positive, and the performances have drawn praise. Some theatres have reportedly added late shows at 9 pm, midnight and even 1.30 am, depending on government permissions.
The film's leading ladies chose to watch it with an audience. Shriya reportedly saw it on October 1 along with the media. She brought her husband and sat in the last row with a big tub of popcorn. She looked tired after a full day of promotions, but she still walked over to greet the press during the interval.
Tabu was in Hyderabad when the film opened. She reportedly watched it later at a theatre in Andheri with a group of about 40 family members and friends. Ajay Devgn, on the other hand, is said to prefer private screenings with his family. He and Tabu have reportedly made 10 films together, and seven of them were hits, including the Drishyam trilogy, Golmaal Again and Vijaypath.
