Bhogi Teaser: Sharwanand Turns Fierce in Sampath Nandi's 1960s Period Drama
The teaser of Bhogi, Sampath Nandi's period action drama, presents Sharwanand in a raw rustic avatar set in a violent 1960s village world, with Anupama Parameswaran and Dimple Hayathi as the female leads.
The teaser of Bhogi is out, and it shows Sharwanand in one of the roughest looks of his career. Sampath Nandi directs this period action drama, and K. K. Radhamohan produces it under the Sri Sathya Sai Arts banner. The teaser pulls viewers into a harsh, earthy world set in the 1960s.
Reports say the story is set on the Telangana and Maharashtra border, in a village caught in feudal oppression and violence. Sharwanand's character, Ganga, is reportedly a blacksmith who is pushed into a fight against the powerful forces ruling his village. The teaser reportedly shows the villagers' suffering, hard physical labour and clashes with the police, along with Ganga's resolve to hit back.
One moment stands out. According to reports, the teaser reveals that the Palagallu have taken Ganga away, and this leads to a fierce vow to wash nine steps with a sword and decorate them with their blood. A devotional ritual also seems to sit at the heart of the plot, and the village's survival appears to depend on it.
Sharwanand carries the teaser with his intense body language and forceful dialogue delivery. Reports point to his Telangana slang and sharp diction as the details that make the rustic character feel real, and his makeover is easily the biggest talking point. Anupama Parameswaran and Dimple Hayathi play the female leads, with Anupama in a rustic look that suits the setting.
The folk touches, the rural backdrop and the blood-soaked action give Bhogi a mood of its own. The teaser also hints that the film will go beyond action and dig into the emotions and conflicts within the village. Bheems Ceciroleo's music adds punch to the visuals, while Kishor Kumar reportedly handles the cinematography.
Bhogi is reportedly set to release in theatres on November 12, 2026.
