Ashutosh Gowariker's Lagaan is certainly one of those OG movies from which hardly anyone could move on. Even to this day, people find amusement in this movie and sway to the songs that enchant everyone. This legendary sports drama has completed 20 years of its release. To commemorate this event, the lead actor of this film who played the role of Bhuvan, Aamir Khan, was summoned into an interview where he spilled the beans about a lot of things. Let's get right into it.
Aamir Khan begins to talk about the fact that Lagaan was not an easy movie to make. He confessed, "We were all struggling to make a story that we believed in and tried our best to get things right. Ashu did a wonderful job and a big credit for the way the film-shaped up goes to him." He then talks about how this film made him bond with his crewmates well and it was a truly amazing experience. He ended up making many permanent memories and friends.
The actor then concludes the interview by stating that he would love to see someone remake his legacy, Lagaan. “I wouldn’t want to remake it, because I have already made it once. But if another filmmaker wants to make it, I am sure, Ashutosh and I will be happy to give him the rights. I don’t believe in being possessive about my films. I would like to see who does Bhuvan better than me. It will be charming." The actor signs off.
