Anjali Anand's mother calls Dhamaal 4 a 'one-time watch' on Farah Khan's vlog

Actor Anjali Anand, part of the Dhamaal 4 cast, appeared on Farah Khan's latest YouTube food vlog, and the biggest laugh came from her mother. Asked what she thought of the film, her mother called it a "one-time watch." When Anjali asked how she liked her own daughter in it, the reply was a short "theek hai", meaning she was fine.

The chat also turned to a harder chapter. Anjali said 2020 was the lowest point of her life. She could not find acting work, and her savings ran out during the lockdown. She had even thought about quitting acting and moving abroad.

Things changed during a trip to Goa with friends, when casting director Shanoo Sharma called her. That call led to Karan Johar's Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, the film that made her widely known. Her mother reportedly admitted she had doubted Anjali would get the part, since the family had no industry backing or contacts.

The present looks less settled. Anjali reportedly told Farah that she has had no work since Dhamaal 4, and that her recent trip to London was not for a shoot. Farah told her not to worry, since she still had the money to travel.

A tour of her Mumbai home, where she lives with her mother, reportedly included her luxury bag collection, with YSL, Gucci and Birkin pieces. Anjali called herself obsessed with bags. As they unboxed the Birkin, Farah joked that she and her cook Dilip would have to sell two cars to buy one, and suggested Anjali sell it for a bigger house.

When Farah praised her looks, Anjali said nobody was casting her. Farah asked filmmakers to give her work, calling Dhamaal 4 a superhit. The comedy, which reports say was a hit, also stars Ajay Devgn, Arshad Warsi and Riteish Deshmukh.
