Aneet Padda calls Ahaan Panday her best friend ahead of Mohit Suri reunion
Aneet Padda says reuniting with her Saiyaara co-star Ahaan Panday and director Mohit Suri will be fun, and talks about why she stopped eating set food. Her horror comedy Shakti Shalini releases in December.
Aneet Padda is teaming up again with her Saiyaara co-star Ahaan Panday and director Mohit Suri, and she says the friendship is the part she is most excited about. "Ahaan is my best friend, so it'll be fun. That's all that I'm thinking," the actor said in a recent interview.
She thinks working with the same team again will help. According to Aneet, the three of them are already "in tune emotionally and artistically". She expects that comfort to make the shoot more fun and to help them understand each other's vision for the film.
Looking back on Saiyaara, where she played Vaani and Panday played Krish, she called him "one of the most giving actors". In emotional scenes he cried on every take, even when the camera was only on her, so she could see what was happening on his side. She also said nobody makes her laugh the way he does.
Suri got high praise too. Aneet remembered the director telling them he would step into their world instead of pulling them into his. That trust, she said, gave the two young actors the confidence to try things out.
The interview also turned to food on film sets, which she no longer eats. She ate set meals in the year before Saiyaara and found them "so bad". Now, she said, she is lucky enough to order from outside.
Her next film is Shakti Shalini, a horror comedy due in theatres this December. Aneet said she made a conscious choice to do a solo film after Saiyaara, and she was delighted to get the chance to lead this one.
