Akka teaser out: Keerthy Suresh, Radhika Apte series hits Netflix on October 30
Netflix has released the teaser of Akka, a 1980s gangster series starring Keerthy Suresh as Bhavani and Radhika Apte as Rudra, and it begins streaming on October 30, 2026.
Netflix has dropped the teaser of Akka, a gangster series led by Keerthy Suresh and Radhika Apte, and confirmed it will stream from October 30, 2026.
Keerthy plays Bhavani and Radhika plays Rudra. The story unfolds in Pernuru, a fictional kingdom in the 1980s that generations of women have built, ruled and defended. Old traditions, bitter rivalries and changing equations of power drive the conflict.
YRF Entertainment is producing the show. Dharmaraj Shetty wrote and directed it, and Akka is his first outing as a director.
The teaser arrived on Keerthy's birthday, which the actor said made the day feel truly special. "Bhavani is one of the most unique and memorable characters I have had the opportunity to play," she said, adding that she loved working with Radhika and that the push and pull between their characters gives the story an intriguing edge.
Radhika described Rudra as a woman driven by her own convictions, with an instinct to challenge the world around her. What pulled her in, she said, was how complex the characters are and the tension that grows from their clashing points of view. She was also pleased that the date announcement landed on her co-star's birthday. "I am sure it is going to be lucky for us," she said.
