Prabhas took to his Twitter handle to announce the release of his much-awaited maiden Bollywood project Adipurush and declared that the movie is going to be released on August 11, 2022. This announcement makes it clear that the movie release would be postponed by a year. However, when the project was materialized the movie crew were pretty confident that the project would go on to the sets from January 2021, and would go for a release somewhere in the middle of 2021. Now, these plans seem to be halted.

Om Raut, the director of the movie initially thought of wrapping up the entire shoot in three months by using green screens, but now it is clear that they have altogether different plans to finish the movie. Prabhas will be playing the protagonist of the movie as Lord Shri Ram, while Saif Ali Khan, who did a splendid job in the negative shades for the movie Taanaji, has been roped in to play the demon king Lankesh (Raavan). The movie is going to be a 3D mythological epic.
