Storyline

Kaali (Rajinikanth) is a stylish elderly man who has the charm and charisma to make anyone fall for him. However, his skills are not restricted to his looks. He shows up at a college in Ooty to join as the boy's hostel's warden. No one could stay there and tolerate the atrocities of the seniors. But Kaali immediately sets them right upon joining. This creates a rift between Michael (Bobby Simha), a local goon's son and Kaali. Anwar (Sananth) is a gentle and friendly boy who loves Anu (Megha Akash). Kaali helps them both meet and convince Anu's mother, Mangala (Simran), to agree for their alliance. In the process, Mangala and Kaali fall in love. This doesn't go well with Michael who likes Anu. But Kaali teaches Michael a lesson and the video goes viral. When Jittu (Vijay Sethupathi), son of Simhachalam (Nawazzudin Siddique), a dreadful politician in Uttar Pradesh, sees the video, he immediately identifies the people in it and sends men to kill Anwar. It remains a mystery as to why Jittu wants to kill Anwar. Kaali had hidden motives behind joining as the warden in the boy's hostel. He didn't come without a plan and his priorities are clear. What are Kaali's intentions, his past and is he going to succeed? The story then revolves around Jittu, Simhachalam, Kaali, and innocent Anwar. How are they all connected?
